Procurement

Welcome to the MIWB Procurement Page

Mount Isa Water Board (MIWB) undertakes procurement activities in alignment with the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP) and the Procurement Assurance Model (PAM).

Our procurement approach is founded on the principles of value for money, integrity, transparency, and accountability. In accordance with QPP, MIWB also considers broader practical economic, environmental, and social impact under the Purposeful Public Procurement (PPP) outcomes in our procurement decisions, where proportionate to the size and risk of the procurement.

Through our procurement processes, we aim to:

  • Achieve value for money across the full lifecycle of goods, services and works
  • Support capable Queensland and regional suppliers
  • Encourage fair and open competition
  • Promote ethical supplier conduct and responsible business practices
  • Deliver practical economic, environmental, and social benefits for Queensland
  • Manage commercial, operational and supplier risks appropriately

MIWB ensures alignment with QPP and PAM by incorporating procurement planning, supplier assurance, risk assessment and performance monitoring into our procurement and contract management processes. This supports responsible decision-making and strengthens oversight of supplier conduct and performance.

Procurement is generally conducted under MIWB’s standard terms and conditions of purchase unless specific project or operational requirements require alternative contractual arrangements.

MIWB utilises the Queensland Government’s eTendering platform to advertise procurement opportunities. The platform provides access to current, closed and awarded tenders, ensuring transparency and equal access to opportunities.

Suppliers wishing to be notified of new tendering opportunities are encouraged to register on the Queensland Government eTendering website to receive automated email alerts when relevant tenders are published.

MIWB values constructive engagement with industry and welcomes suppliers who share our commitment to quality, integrity and delivering sustainable outcomes for Queensland.
