Permenant water treatment plant approaches completion

Final process equipment arrives in Mount Isa following six months of manufacturing and testing activities by suppliers.

The Mount Isa Water Board is pleased to advise the community of recent visible progress on the installation of the new micro-filtration infrastructure. The last of the new, permanent filtration units has been delivered to site and is to be installed next week, ready to meet summer water demand from the city.

The Mount Isa Water Board is investing $9.2 million into new, micro-filtration water treatment infrastructure to increase filtration capacity for the benefit of the Mount Isa community.

This infrastructure is expected to be fully operational by the end of September 2015.
